The Faux Martha is a personal blog written by Melissa Coleman that highlights the blurry line of “where life stops and dinner starts” with her husband and daughter. Her post called “Thanksgiving Turkey: The Recipe and the Tools” details how to brine a Thanksgiving turkey and the utensils/tools needed to cook it. She utilizes her minimalistic approach to convey her brine recipe and turkey tools via simple, clean, black and white photography. She lists tools with links to purchase and describes what they’re needed for and how to use them. For example, a link attached to a gravy fat separator shows the reader where to purchase, and her short description shows how to use it. It’s the perfect post for first-time turkey cookers or for those looking to spruce up their holiday turkey! She ends with a brine recipe, adding a personal touch with instructions on how to cook the turkey day-of. Check out Melissa's site to see the full blog post.
